How to be
Saved
Do you know if you died today where you would spend eternity?
|
My friend if you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your
personal Lord and Saviour, and have never asked the Lord to
forgive you of your sins and save your soul, then when you die
you will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire.
That is BAD news! you may say, "Well, if my good works out weigh my
bad works then I am sure that God will let me into heaven." Friend, if
that is what you are trusting to get you to heaven then you will end up in
Hell. The Bible says concerning salvation, "Not of works, lest any man
should boast." (Ephesians 2:9).
You may say, "Well, if that is the case then nobody is going to heaven!"
Jesus said plainly, " I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6). Jesus paid the price for your
sin and mine with His blood on the cross of Calvary, "And he is the
propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of
the whole world" "and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us
from all sin" (1 John 1:9&7).
Quit trusting religion, "For there is one God, and one mediator between
God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" (1 Timothy 1:5). Quit trusting your
goodness, "But we are all as a unclean thing, and all our rigteousnesses
are as filthy rags;" (Isaiah 64:6).
Quit using your own methods "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye
shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3), and trust Christ "and him that
cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." (John 6:37).
If you ask Him to save you, He will "God be merciful to me a sinner"
(Luke 18:13) "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall
be saved." (Romans 10:13).
It's not in a right set of words but the honest cry of a heart wanting
God's forgiveness, not just wanting out of a spot and temporary relief
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10).
